The Association of “Amis Montagne Bourbonnaise” has the statutes and objectives of promoting and putting the artisans and artists of the region on the map.
To fully succeed in this major challenge, she proudly relies on:
1°) The Maison de l’Artisanat in Mayet de Montagne, a shop that promotes local producers and artisans thanks to more than 90 depositors (food products, cosmetics, pottery, wood, textiles, jewellery, decoration, books…).
2°) A library open to all at the Mayet de Montagne open on Monday and Saturday mornings (9h30-12h) and Wednesday afternoon (14h30-17h).
3°) A Vannerie museum and an oseraie open during the summer period through the Mayet de Montagne tourist office. The rest of the year, by appointment for groups of 10 people minimum.
4°) A famous fair at the Paniers that brings together every year, on the 3rd Sunday of August around the church of Mayet de Montagne, basketmen, artisans and various producers. This day is punctuated by street shows. Catering and bar on site.
5°) A flea market that brings together every year at the Boulaire du Mayet de Montagne, every day for about a month, nearly 200 exhibitors with 15,000 objects deposited and renewed constantly. The permanences are provided by the volunteers of the association.
6°) Cultural events with concerts, theatre and street shows, permanent exhibition hall of local artists (on the 2nd floor of the Maison de l’Artisanat from May to December), co-participation in the Mont’Enscène festival (amateur theatre).
Thus, thanks to more than 50 years of existence and the will of many volunteers, the association of “Amis de la Montagne Bourbonnaise” has become an essential entity of the social, cultural and tourist economy for this beautiful medium mountain region. If you wish to join our team, we will be happy to welcome you there.
